Dave Platt
01 - 07 - 2004 Dave Platt is one of a handful of model builders I have always looked up to for his dedication, skill and quality of work. Dave continually sets new standards, prove that it can be done and motivates me to improve my skill as a modeler. Thank you Dave for your contributions to my experience.
When I started in this hobby there were two gentlemen who caught my attention almost immediately: Ken Willard and Bill Winters. I devotedly read columns written by both men. Not only were they prolific modelers, but they were never afraid to experiment and fail. It is from these two men that I learned what model building is all about. And that is the journey. Sadly Bill Winters and Ken Willard have passed away. I felt a great sense of loss with each of them. |
